Spider Vein Treatment
Hundreds of millions of women and men are troubled by spider veins on their faces. Some sources estimate that more than 75% of females over the age of 18 have spider veins. Women are more prone to have spider veins than men.
We use new technology in laser treatments to close off smaller varicose veins and spider veins. Laser surgery works by sending strong bursts of light onto the vein, which makes the vein slowly fade and disappear. No incisions or needles are used.
Spider veins and small varicose veins can be treated from the surface of the skin. The laser applies an intense energy that essentially destroys the small blood vessels in the surface of the skin.
Laser treatment is especially effective in the facial area where the laser may be the preferred method of treatment.
Thinking about making an appointment?
Below is a checklist of 7 important steps to prepare yourself prior to laser treatment. Please read each step carefully and contact us with any questions or concerns. Tip: Choose a number yourself to read at your own pace.
Stay out of the sun for 4-6 weeks. Treatment should not be performed on a suntan or sunburn. Procedures will NOT be given if you are sunburned. You must inform our office, and wait until your skin is completely healed.
Do not tweeze, wax, or use a depilatory agent in between treatments.
Shave area to be treated 12-14 hrs before treatment. (If hair growth is heavy, shave just before coming to the office.)
Do not wear makeup, deodorant, perfumes, lotion or powder on areas to be treated.
48 hours prior to treatment, do NOT use aspirin, Ibuprofen, Alieve, or any cold medications. If on Aspirin for a medical condition DO NOT DISCONTINUE WITHOUT TALKING WITH YOUR PERSONAL PHYSICIAN FIRST. You also must NOT have taken photo sensitive medications such as antibiotics and some herbal remedies for 2 weeks before an appointment can be scheduled (contact us for a complete list). You must not have taken Acutane or Gold treatments for 6 months prior to treatment. Please contact our office to inform us of any change in medication(s) you are taking,
For Body areas such as Bikini, Backs, Shoulder, Underarms etc., do not wear dark under-clothing. The best colors to wear are “red” or “white”. (Laser energy is absorbed by dark colors).
You may wear/bring appropriate clothing for treatments to any areas you do not want to be exposed. It makes it easier for you and for us.
